Coronavirus cases in Florida near 7,000
Florida’s Department of Health on Wednesday morning announced 214 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total of confirmed cases to 6,955. Two new deaths were reported in Palm Beach County, raising the statewide death toll to 87.
Palm Beach County now has a total of 16 deaths relating to COVID-19 complications, according to Florida’s COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard. Information about the deaths were not immediately available.
Of the total known cases in the state, 6,694 are Florida residents and 261 are non-Florida residents who were diagnosed or isolated in Florida, according to the dashboard. Health officials say 890 people are hospitalized in the state because of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
